Walking is Great

Walking is Great

On Friday we moved from Hobart to Dover. In Dover we are staying at a house that has a fantastic view.

On Saturday we visited Recherche Bay and decided to go on a walk to the most southern point of Australia.

We started the walk at Cockle Creek campground, and we walked seven and a half kilometres each way. We walked through two different parts one was swamp, and the other was forest.

On the walk we also saw a lot of wombat poo.

After two hours of walking we arrived at South East Bay. The cliff was high, strong and bare.

The walk took four hours in total, and the walk was fun, interesting and tireing.

  • Hi Hamish, Pickle here. Dan and I have done this walk! I agree, it’s a really good one, so much change in nature, we liked the boardwalks. Dan liked the dark rocks (he is a geologist). I will send your mum a photo. We pretended we were making a music band photo shoot – we look ridiculous! Thanks for your stories.

  • Hello Hamish,
Well, you seem to be doing more than a fair share of walking on this trip. Would love to be doing it with you, although I think both you and Heidi would be on your way back before we were even half way there!
So you didn’t see any wombats then, only what they left behind?!
We haven’t heard anything from your sister lately. Maybe she’s been too busy.
    Keep having fun.
    Love Granny and Grandpa
