So Long, Victoria

So Long, Victoria

When we were in Colac we stayed in the showground. It was few weeks ago, but we went to the Botanical Gardens. There were lots of flowers, trees and more, and the gardens ran along the edge of Lake Colac.

Then we went for a drive to Camperdown. We walked along the main street and had a look at the visitor centre. Then we had a look at the clock tower, which is the only clock tower in Victoria which is not part of another building. It was built as a memorial for one of the first settlers’ son who died young.

Our next camping stop was Johanna Beach. Mum and Heidi went on a four and a half hour walk which only took them two and a half hours. Dad, Jett and I dropped them off and then picked them up afterwards. They had to wait a while since they had arrived earlier than expected.

They went on more walks across the week. The last walk that Mum did at Johanna Beach was a short walk that was six kilometres long and ended at our camp site.

Our next camping stop was Fitzroy River. We drove to Portland and Port Fairy where we looked around and went to the Botanical Gardens.

The weather mostly bad, and Mum had to go to Portland to be able to work out of the wind and rain.

It was very cold and windy, but I still did some swimming with the dog and Heidi in the river.

The river runs down to the sea, and Mum and Dad did some fishing while we were swimming. They didn’t catch anything.
