The Land of Falls

The Land of Falls

As we moved in to Zebra Stone Caravan Park we set up for an amazing week. The first day we went to the magnetic termites mounds and went on a free tour. Then we went to a falls called Florence Falls. The plunge pool (actual falls) was so crowded that we just had to swim at the top bit. Then we went to Walker Creek where we had a little swim. Then we went to Bamboo Creek Tin Mine. The old place had a old house and shed. Then we went for a walk around Wangi Falls sadly with the stinky bats. Two days later we went to a rockhole called Buley Rockhole. We had a swim and a rest. The next day we went to Buley Rockhole again and had a swim and walked a kilometer to Florence falls. The next day we sadly left Litchfield National park.

My favourite place went to was Florence Falls because we got to swim at both the bottom and the top of the falls (on our second visit).

Next time I’ll be talking about Kununurra.

  • Sounds as though you really liked Litchfield National Park Hamish. The Buley Rockhole water looks lovely and clear, and you were lucky to have so many swims on that part of your trip.

  • Hi Hamish, I loved swimming in all the waterfalls at Litchfield too! Sorry you had smelly bats around. But lucky you didn’t have a croc bite you. Some people had that happen to them 2 weeks after we left. It was a freshwater croc and they swam too close to the reeds where they had a nest
